Reticle Alpha Question (.DDS Save)

Опубликовано:

Hi, I wanted to start making custom reticles, but I am not sure what to save the dds as. In the stock reticle files, there is alpha saved. I don't know what type of file I should save mine as though, ( DXT1, DXT3, DXT5, DXT5_NM.)

If anyone could help me, I would be thankful.

Open iwi in iwi_x_dds?

Yeah, I already have the files and everything converted. I am not sure what to use when saving my own reticles. Without the proper alpha settings, they look pretty blurry/distorted in-game and sometimes aren't rendered correctly. Alpha is used in the originals from the game, but I am not sure what type of alpha they are saved as/ are using. It would take hours to test out each alpha setting because of conversions/placement and I would just like to know if anyone knows the correct setting.

Never-mind now. I actually figured out that only the menu uses alpha and in-game doesn't need it because it determines what is transparent and what is not. I also figured that DTX 5 works best for the menu pic as the game accepts any of them. Sorry for the trouble

Thanks anyway.

DXT1-no alpha

DXT5-with alpha

Yeah, I got that. But I was just confused on what type of alpha to use for the menu pics. I didn't know whether the game would make the black completely transparent if it was DXT3 or 5 since in-game it doesn't need alpha. I figured it out through testing though.

Thanks anyway guys. :)
