I have a problem with my menu pics for custom camos-

The picture does not fade as it should to the left and instead it has a line running through it.

I copied over the alpha that is in all other camos in the game. Any help on why this is happening?

It kinda looks like it's using the MP.

What do you mean? Mipmaps? It needs mipmaps because without them, it just doesn't show up.

I've got experience with the camo menu's, never saw this problem. Maybe their saved as a different image size or saved with layers?

I don't mind helping but I need to look at the .iwi's and the .psd's.

 

Try adding the gradient yourself

That should work if you can't figure it out though.

I have taken the original hex camo, opened it in CS6, then saved it without making changes. That version of the hex camo was then screwed up like the camo in the pic above. This might have to do with my .dds mipmap settings.

Here are the settings I currently have; if you have made camo menu pics before, please critique this.

 

(I am also using DXT5 when saving the .dds file)

The camo menu's have an alpha channel so your correct in saving it as DXT-5. But you also have to pay attention to the size's before and after you change the .iwi into a .dds. That's where the mipmaps come into play. I'll look at it in the morning when I get home. Should be no need to adjust any settings though.

Slowz has managed to fix my problem.

The problem was that @Kokoles converter does NOT work with the menu pics for IW5 for some strange reason (it works for every other game though and works super well on IW4 with no error.)

Do textures used for 2d need to be mipmapped anyway?

 

Only if the file size is different after converting from iwi to dds.
