i've been wanting to host my promod server again (which is in aus ;]) but i encountered this error while trying to boot it up. When i try run it from the shortcut i made from iw4m.exe and i add all the commands to the target and ive dont everything right, it starts up for a bit, but then it just closes. i've even tried making a shortcut of launchIW4M and doing the same, and renaming the actually iw4m.dat in the appdata-local section. help plz??!! xox :ugeek:

Everything's correct in your server.cfg? Have you tried just create a dedi with the original server.cfg without modificating it at all, and then continue with the next steps, and see if you get any error.

My tip: try to make an example dedi and see if you can run it. Also, you have port-forwarded?

Make sure you've created a shortcut with these launch parameters here:

C:\Users\(You Computer Name Here)\AppData\Local\IW4M\LaunchIW4M.exe -dedicated +set party_maxplayers 18 +set net_port 28961 +exec server.cfg +map (map name here) +map_rotate +set fs_game "mods/z_svr_(mod name here)"

 

Also make sure that you have port 28961 forwarded or at least one that remains the same as the one in the launch parameter's code.

LaunchIW4M.exe worked for me just fine, at least it did when used to run my dedicated server for testing.
