It's been a long time since I was last active in the forum

and i heard before that the hosted mods are being automatically downloaded

by the clients without the permission of the host...

 

My question is - Is this still true in the official release?

or shall we still need to put _svr_ prefix to our .iwd mod file to prevent clients

from downloading the mod?

 

thanks guys it this might have been answered already. I tried searching the answer int the forum but I had to dig in all of those more than 100 topics and search feature does not give me good results too....

Yes, that is true, the client will download the mod if the host has the mod in the mods folder, and doesn't have a _svr_ prefix.

so it means that the clients who have joined my server yesterday had my private mod now in their mods folder??? It means they could host it themselves now and fuck it around and even release it publicly? That's just too bad bro I just broke the deal with the owner if the mod has just leaked...

Unless you have svr_ prefix. If not, yes.

:-( I definitely had screwed it up :-( I was just testing my server yesterday if I had made it to work. I didn't actually made any changes in my server settings as well as with the mod.iwd. All of my mods are in mod folder and without _svr_ prefix for the .iwd's files:-(
