[How To] Change Background Menu Music (updated)

Опубликовано:

Easy method:

Things you will need:

- brain.exe

- a song

1. Open up your m2demo folder (should be in your Modern Warfare 2 folder or in your %localappdata%\IW4M folder.

2. In your m2demo folder, create a folder called sound. Create another folder in that sound folder and call it music.

Should look like this: ...\m2demo\sound\music

3. Change the name of your song to hz_boneyard_intro_LR_1. Check if it's MP3. If it's not, then convert it to MP3.

4. Copy your song to the music folder (...\m2demo\sound\music\hz_boneyard_intro_LR_1.mp3).

5. Launch IW4M and listen to your new menu music!

5. Change the name of the ZIP file, it should start with z_ (like z_menusound) and change the ending to .iwd.

6. Copy your .iwd file to your Modern Warfare 2\main\ folder.

7. Launch IW4M and listen to your new menu music!

Nice tut mate!

Also,

Look at my sig if you want the mw3 ending music from credits in your background.

Thanks!

That's how this tutorial came up :3

I looked at your sig and saw that, so I decided to make a tut :D

Put it into your m2demo folder instead.

Here's a full in depth video tutorial on how to install the music.

I hope this helps the visual learners.

But my name is "SerPo", not "SerPro" ;)

Ok, why not share my samples...

I've sampled some bits of music to use as menu background music. I warn you that these samples are not suitable for everyday usage, since the sound is a bit strong. I just use samples like these to surprise people when they launch their games at my LAN parties :P

Anyway, the purpose is for some of you to realize how simple it is to use a custom sample, and to realize that you can use any content, as long as it's mp3.

p.s.: as said above, the iwd should go to "m2demo" folder, rather than "main" folder (it was "main" for aIW, but it will only work on "m2demo" on 4D1.

And yes, creating the folder \sound\music\ on m2demo and putting the sample inside also works (and it's easier than creating it and then compressing it)

That should be fixed on the tutorial.

Have fun testing! ;)
