Localized fonts don't work with 4delta1 client for some reason.

 

I was trying to add "gamefonts_pc.iwi" (with russian font) to "localized_english_iw00.iwd/images" and it does absolutely nothing. Then I did same thing on steam and it works. Then I copyed "localized_english_iw00.iwd" from steam folder to 4delta1. It doesn't work again.

Any help?

Make a .zip file

Make a folder called "images" in that zip file

Put the gamefonts_pc.iwi there

Rename the .zip to z_testorwhatever.iwd

Put the file in "iw4m/Main"

Not in main as if you do it crashes your IW4M on startup that's how it was for me and ToolBox. Put it inside m2demo.

I downloaded new client from SKIDROW. Same result. On russian forum some people don't have this problem at all, others don't have solution of the problem. Seems like that forum isn't very active now.

I just realized what you're doing... you're breaking all your localized .iwd's as you're doing that. Download only the localized_russian_iw00-07.iwd's from a torrent or so and make sure to get the localization.txt with it as well.

Yeah, thats about right. Unless you make a russian server of course. But you CAN change the language of the game, but not the language of others chats. Just get a russian server for that.

2. You can have a russian server with a russian chat and russian players

So it depends on the server and not the client?

I installed them in 3 different ways

So apparently after setting ui_smallFont to 0.55, font in chat magicly changes to russian
