XP currently isnt supported, but you can try and avoid the error by making a iw4m.ini file in your game folder, and in the first line typing your forum username, and the second your password. I advise you upgrade to a newer OS.

Go to start

all programs

Accessories

Notepad

type in username

hit enter

type in password.

 

Now go to file

save as

Change save as type to: all files (*.*)

name the file: iw4m.ini

save it to your modern warfare 2 folder.

I doubt that this is the problem as he has passed through NP.

Reinstall usually helps. Get the game from proper source
