hello i have this config for battlefield 3 which increases fps from alittle to alot for some people and i would like to share my config to you people.

 

Step 1

go to your BF3 installation location, these two are the default locations for bf3

32bit - C:\Program Files\Origin Games\Battlefield 3

64bit - C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 3

 

Step 1.1 (do this step if you don't have user.cfg in the location)

right click in the folder and create a text document file and name it user.cfg (make sure you have file name extensions enabled in the folder options)

 

Step 2.

open user cfg and replace everything with this. (you can modify it for settings that you would like)

PostProcess.DynamicAOEnable 0

RenderDevice.Dx11Enable 0

Render.DrawFps 1

RenderDevice.VSyncEnable 0

RenderDevice.ForceRenderAheadLimit 1

RenderDevice.TripleBufferingEnable 0

WorldRender.DxDeferredCsPathEnable 1

WorldRender.FxaaEnable 0

WorldRender.SpotLightShadowmapEnable 0

WorldRender.SpotLightShadowmapResolution 64

WorldRender.TransparencyShadowmapsEnable 0

 

Step 2.1 (if you want DX11 enabled on BF3, recommend not using DX11 as it usually decreases performance)

replace

RenderDevice.Dx11Enable 0

with

RenderDevice.Dx11Enable 1

 

Step 3.0 (optional if you want to use my settings for battlefield 3)

go to this location in your documents

C:\Users\your username\Documents\Battlefield 3\settings

 

Step 3.1 (continuing from step 3.0)

download the attachment that is part of this thread and extract it to the location of step 3.0 and replace everything.

 

P.S also note if you are using my settings i have modified the controls so change them to the ones that you use

Can i get banned for this?. There was a fxaa mod,and it injects something in game and you could get banned.

this doesn't get you banned because its not injecting anything into the game, its just changing commands which are changeable in the ingame console.

and FXAA wont get you banned, if i remember correct a DICE employee said that they wont ban you for using FXAA, plus if they make it bannable almost 50% of people or so will be banned from battlefield 3 and BF3 wont have as many people on anymore

Ok thanks for answer.I'll use this fps increase,when i'll get my close quarters dlc,and spray n' pray while maintaining above 100 fps like a boss .

Probably because alot of stuff is destructible,and your processor and/or ram can't handle it all.

Dude you are awesome. This didn't increase my framerate but it has made my BF3 a TON more stable. It used to freeze and crash a lot, now it runs flawlessly. Thanks!

Close Quarters and B2K seem to run worse compared to the vanilla maps, but then again my PC is pretty shitty

Didn't notice.gonna try it and edit to say what happened.

 

E:Seems ok.Got no slightest freezes,stable 60-120 fps on tdm norshair canals

Bf3 is still an eye candy for me even at lowest possible.

some people say that it didnt give em much of an fps increase but it made their bf3 more stable and less freezing or no freezing

This didn't really help me as when I added everything to my user.cfg all that worked was the DrawFps. Render.DX11Enable was on Boolean still..

I didnt get eny FPS or maybe 2-3 i dont know! Still the same

RenderDevice.Dx11Enable actually seems to reset to 1 even if you have it set to 0 in your config file.

Ty for this advice! +10 FPS added. Now i have 30
