Hello.

 

First of all, I have MW2 on Steam.

Second, I don't own any of the 2 DLCs.

Third, I have Windows 7 Ultimate on 32 bit and all my drivers are up-to-date. (I have a ATI Radeon HD 5770 graphics card)

 

I have installed the IW4M client in the Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 folder.

 

Note: I do not have all the IW4M necessary files in the MW2 directory. :-\ I am missing the "im4mp.exe" & the "localization.txt" files.

 

The game runs fine for me (I played on a server with a default / stock map).

 

After that I went to the Private Match option, selected a Bonus Map (= DLC map) and as soon as I pressed on the "Start Game" option, the game froze and I heard the error sound. I couldn't do anything. So I opened up the Windows Logon Screen (by pressing CTRL + ALT + DELETE), choose to open the Task Manager, and from that, I closed the game. I tried starting a match on a DLC map again, and again, . . . The same result (game freeze and the error sound). I also tried opening up the error message (to see what's in it) but it didn't appeared. So I must end task either for the MW2 game or for the error.

 

Can you (FourDeltaOne team & forum users) help me, please ?

 

 

How can I play on the DLC maps ? (without buying them, obvious) Do I have to download some files that contain the 2 DLC packs ? Or to install the Microsoft Net Framework v3.5.1 ?? Or none of these (but another solution) ??

 

 

P.S: please, don't delete this post (or ban me) ! I need a solid answer. If there isn't any actual solution, then I understand that I must but the DLC packs.

You don't need "im4mp.exe" for 4D1, you need iw4m.exe

Try updating your game and client

Also, google MW2 DLC then download and install

I am now downloading the DLC map packs.

 

Also, I've made a mistake above. I actually have the "iw4mp.exe" file (which has 3,8 MB) ---> it's the MW2 MP default launcher. Is it good ? Or I must have the launcher with the same name, but which is only 46 KB ? Look on this thread, at point 38, where you'll see an image with the IW4M necessary files. The "iw4mp.exe" file has 46 KB in that image :-\ Strange...

Why should I update the IW4M client when in

it says that we don't need to do that ?

 

Note: Today (19th of June) I downloaded the whole MW2 game from Steam. Also, I put Steam to check the local files of MW2 (= verify integrity of game cache) before I started installing the IW4M mod. So I don't think that I need to do that again.

After the download completes, I'll copy the DLC packs into the "main" folder and see if the maps will load & work. Is it the correct folder for the DLC files ? or not ?

iw_22.iwd and iw_23.iwd go into "main" folder

 

The DLC fastfiles (.ff) go into "zone/dlc" folder, NOT "main"
