On mkv files, subs are "inside" the files. And an appropriated codec will load them as soon the videos is open..

The problem is, the mkv only provided me Italian subs, I need some english srt/ass subs to load it over the italian sub.

Is it dual-subbed? Because then you should right click on the Haali Media Splitter and select the right language.

 

Or did you download it from an Italian subgroup?
