Your computers performance

Well, haven't seen this topic yet. So I thought I'd make one.

Go to: Control Panel -> All Control Panel Items -> Performance Information and Tools and find your score. Once you've found it take a screenshot and post it here.

I'll start.

And you read right, following wiki. SSD is used on many hardwares, SSD do not mean only a storage unit, as a "hard disk". Thats why I pointed hard disk after the SSD expression.

Those people have a good PC performance due to the data transfer of the SSD.

But it does not function as a HDD at all? A HDD uses platters (the disks), a fragile mechanism and can't deal with being thrown around all the time whereas a SSD doesn't use a fragile mechanism and platters. SSDs use flash memory.

And since you're saying SSDs are used in different kinds of hardware;

A SSD is always used as storage, no matter in which device, what kind of device or what ever device, it's always storage.

Yuki, I know what is a SSD. I was just talking about their performance on PC and how they are faster than the traditional 7200 rpm HDD, just because they use flash memory and the data is faster to read/write.

I want to buy one, but atm they are to expensive. About 150€ for a 120GB SSD. While for 90€ you can afford a 1TB HDD.

I wanted to correct your mistake of calling a SSD a hard disk and saying that it isn't only used as storage, while it is. But let's stop the discussion about that before we derail the thread to a point of no return.

The Crucial M4 64GB is €68 here, just store your frequently used programs and OS on it, store your games and other stuff on your 7200 RPM drive.

change the ''120Gb'' to ''120GB'' please

I was wondering if any of you ever get this after playing BF3...

"Windows has detected your computer's performance is slow. This could be because there are not enough resources to run the Windows Aero color scheme. To improve performance, try changing the color scheme to Windows 7 Basic. Any change you make will be in effect until the next time you log on to Windows"

I only get this sometimes and only after playing BF3, anyone else ever get this and is there a fix, I do not want to change windows settings to basic?? My system specs below...

Windows7, 64 bit

Intel® Core i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz

Memory 8.00 GB

Western Digital VelociRaptor WD3000HLFS 300GB 10000 RPM

Video Card AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series

Well I must say that the HDD is really very, very bad. My 250GB hard-drive was much faster. I've got the whole computer working about 2 weeks ago.

By the way:

Processor: Intel® Core i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.4GHz

Display: AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series

Hard-drive: Hitachi HDS721010DLE630 ATA Device

Available OS Memory: 8154MB RAM

So, you don't want to spend much money isn't it? But you want a faster windows? If you have a desktop you could buy like a 60GB SSD to use your OS, and them buy one HDD for storage..
