People have been asking a lot about how to port SP maps to MP and I decided instead of just telling individual people how to do it I would write an in depth tutorial describing the whole process.

Intro

This tutorial is meant for teaching people how to port sp maps to mp. It is also useful if you are attempting to do entity editing on mp maps. I am assuming you have basic knowledge of how mw2 works when loading raw files as well as gsc coding and how to use a command line and FFViewer. I'm not going to baby people through this and if you don't understand it without being spoon fed then this sort of stuff isn't for you.

XModel List by fastfile.. This is a list of all xmodels (and xmodelsurfs which are irreverent but of useful if you want to dump them) for use.

They go into raw. Also devmap seems to be broken in r104. Try r102 with a modified dependency list (copy PatchMW2SPMaps.cpp from 104 to 102).

Same here buddy! I a minidump error every time I try to load any map with devmap, but I can still join and play on servers?!

 

Even normal private match seems to be half broken. I it crashes for me on loading screen with minidump error 50% of the times...

Thats weird /devmap and Private Match works fine for me :?

Mine work after I changed my dll to 102 :/

 

Hey, where can i get the dll for 102? mine doesnt seem to be working on 104 either..

What does that mean?

 

Make a shortcut to the game's executable file (IW4M.EXE), right click the shortcut you've made and press properties. Add "--dump" to the end of the target 'box'.

When my ported map loads on 100% it stucks on awaiting challenge..1. and the game doesnt respond.

Just wait, this happens sometimes, the game must load two fastfiles now.

Either that or you just fail a properly porting maps. lol

You have a few extra entities that you didn't need (vehicles and nodes and shit). Also, the entities that you added all looked like this

{

"classname" "mp_dm_spawn"

"origin" "0 0 0"

"angles" "0 0 0"

{

it needs to end with a } (closing brace) not { (opening brace)

also your basemaps.arena is wrong... try copying the entry from mp_favela because that is what the dependency map is.
