i always hated cod4 on pc, because the guns always looked....thin i guess...idk if it was just my computer tho

There's quite a difference between SP and MP weapons. Try ironsighting with the AK in both SP and MP, you'll see quite a difference. Probably because the model is focused more 'away' from the POV. Heh, POV.

Anyway, personally I prefer CoD4. Ranked dedis, mod tools, near-infinite competitive potential, lack of bullshit such as OP weapons (even the GL is so fucking minor, it's barely a problem) and whatnot. Also, the game is chock-full of awesome communities with whom you can really have a blast playing with. The game's not going to stand the test of time very well, though. I personally noticed a huge drop of PC dedi servers over the period of a few years, it's about 30% of what it was when I first started playing it. And I haven't played it in a while, so it could be even worse now.

COD4 all the way. Back when IW gave a flying f*ck about the PC community. Full mod support, dedis that people actually used. You could get it looking better than MW3 does now. Plus it had that fun factor that every COD game since has lacked just a little.

I agree about the differences of mp and sp weapons.

You'll see that the accuracy of ak 47 or any other gun is good in sp only.(I am talking about cod8)

But in spec ops and mp its accuracy sucks!

Probably it is in their blood to make a difference between mp and sp weapons ;)

Well, yeah, they have to square down the weapons in order to make the game more balanced. But it's damn noticeable in 4. Especially when you play with, let's say a SOPMOD weapon. Not only does it have multiple attachments but its stats seem to be boosted quite a bit.

COD4 by far.

If you can find a nice server that has rules like "No noobtubes no camping and no martydom" etz than you have got a perfect game with relatively balanced guns, good graphics and just a awesome experience.

I don't like MW3 because it has kill streaks that never stop(sort of), incredibly stupid death streaks and some very unbalanced guns. Ofcourse Cod4 has some issues and I'm not saying MW3 sucks balzz because it has some awesome new streaks(like specialist), weapons and graphics but i just prefer Cod4.

Also a site called www.gametracker.com is great for finding Non hacked servers and servers that have rules you like.

And my last point: If looking on gametracker look for unReal, its a no grenade launcher, martydom, last stand and camper server with a nerved heli and awesome admins.

Also, what I forgot to mention... CoD4 has a wildly successful competitive scene. My own neighbour participates in some quite-high-profile tournaments, and that's probably just the beginning for him. I take credit for introducing him to the online gaming scene, though :P It's quite an unbelieveable display of skill which you'll come across on CoD4, especially per se Promod servers.

Is your neighbor a 13 year old kid or an 18+ man?

I'd assume it wouldn't be good to deal with identities here. Although, he does have quite some pull in the local gaming communities.

Go and buy some glasses!

The only reason why I'd prefer CoD4 instead of MW3 would be the dedicated servers.

But matchmaking isnt sooo bad.

I mean, yes, its really crap, its the worst that could happen to PC gaming, but we can't do anything against that. People will cheat in matchmaking and on dedicated servers. The difference is, that IF an admin is online, the cheater can be kicked on the dserver.

Ok, enough to matchmaking..

Comparision to Counter Strike Scene:

CoD4 is like CS 1.6 while MW2 is like CSS and MW3 like a mixture of CSS and CSGO(seems impossible, but Activision did it xD)

There are still more CS 1.6 players than CSS players: http://store.steampowered.com/stats/

And I think it's because of the same reasons why so many people stay at CoD4.

They don't like the new stuff. (e.g. poinstreaks, matchmaking, (steam?), etc.)

So, for me CoD4 is good at LAN-Partys or to play in school, because it can be cracked very easily, has a LAN mode and it runs on every laggy shitty PC!

But to really play a game, e.g. in a clan, i'd definitely prefer MW3, because there still come updates for the game, and the animations are smoother, you have much more weapons, more perks, etc, etc...

So it matters on what you have in mind to do with the game..

MW3 is only worth it for the singleplayer. Multiplayer - COD4, however, MW2 has the best multiplayer, just my opinion.

Mw2 regarding AlterIW = the best Cod so far, that I have played on, Second would be Cod4, then last is Mw3. They have raped that game so hard, I feel sorry for it.

Now I wait for my PlayStation to arrive, and it's coming along with BF3 :D
