I saw a topic in the iw4m forum where a guy was trying to port the map Dome into mw2, and i wondered if it could be reversed, to port a mw2 map into mw3.

 

wouldnt it be awesome to play afghan or highrise with the mw3 weapons.

 

I think all the maps would work as good extra map packs if they could be ported.

plus they would add some diversity to mw3's strictly-urban settings

Now, I think it's at least polite to post a decent answer instead of telling you to stfu.

 

The problem is that the engines aren't completely the same and some other things have been changed too, this makes it hard to port MW3 maps to MW2 (as seen in the "Dome" example). Now I'm not sure, but I guess the other way around also won't work 'out of the box' and it will probably take a while before it works IF possible.

It all depends on how much time people want to spend on trying to get it to work.

 

You can always hope there's some leftover weapons/maps from MW2 in the files though

You could have replied with a 'no' or 'they'll do it when its released.'

 

But yeah remember when NTA said 'doesn't offer addon MP maps by itself, or modification support by itself' that could have a little bit of map addon in iw5m. But also remember he said 'Semi-limited modifications as well...'
