I've fasted about 2 days in my life. :D

why did you fasted for 2 days only?

Because he felt like it?

Actually, I'm only 13. I hate going to school without the being able to eat there.

>Hate going to school without eating there

>is only thirteen.

Seriously? Back when I was your age I can still fast for 29 (1 day missing due to a very long 900+km journey to my parent's hometown).

Well, people need to grow their bodies and stuff, 13 is a very crucial age for this, fasting for 30 days straight (with little eating after sundown or before sunrise) could lead to heavy damages to the developing cycle of the body. It may also cause ulcers in the stomach and such. Your body growth may even become stunted.

But his excuse is rather lame, i spend MOST of my day at school without eating, and i'm not even on a fast.

Lolwut?

I've been fasting since I was 8 (I believe, my memory is short) and I never had ANY of those things. And my growth is normal. I am 15 now and I am 6'1".

And you can't judge if it's little or not, some people like to eat a lot after fasting, I don't.

I take Ramadan as a month to feel like how a lot of people feel around the world every day, because not everyone can get food everyday, I think they would rather fast everyday than to get food every two days or so, that's why fasting/Ramadan exists, to show you how thankful you should be. On the other hand, it's also there to free your body from all the junk food you eat. Working out after an hour or two of eating is also nice.

But anyway, let's not turn this into a thread discussing if fasting is healthy or not.

Happy Ramadan to all Muslims.

This escalated rather fast as to who here is the most hardcore muslim ever.. :3

No..

It's just because people like to talk about things they don't know anything about (ironic, isn't it?).

Nope, its purely based on religious beliefs.

I am a Muslim, and this got mentioned in Hadith and Qur'an a lot of times. That's the main reason why we fast.
