It cannot reach the server. Check your firewall and router. But it's strange; port 80 should be allowed trough the firewall since it's the HTTP port.

 

But I can be wrong, you should better listen to the tech support guys.

Sounds like a typo of 172.16.x.x.

Uh, have you messed with your hosts files? I remember in the time after aIW stopped some people(*cough* including me *cough*) made some 'patches' that could let the client still play by using the matchmaking server and some other patched stuff.

 

Can you write the contents of your c:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts (no extension) here?

 

And eh, why would it connect to that IP.. have you modded your dll?

IP resolution error... I've seen that happening already due to the use of certain proxies...

Make sure that you don't have any active proxy (internet explorer settings -> connections tab) and then clean your DNS cache (command prompt -> ipconfig /flushdns )
