Yeah like if many of us got even a chance. I suppose neither of us visits 4D1 every day, or even every hour to check for announcements. You were lucky because you visited 4D1 at the right time and solved the quest, either yourself or with some help - but that's not the point. The point is many people could've been asleep at the time of the announcement, and many didn't think of visiting 4D1 right then.

 

I think this kind of quest should be announced like a day or two before it starts - people would have an equal chance of geting the beta keys. In my opinion another round of quests or, even, hack-me's would be highly appriciated.

 

And, also, I remember that back in alterIWnet times people that registered before a certain date had some privilages (I think it was alterBO beta or smth, can't remember right now) - this could apply to IW5M as well.

 

Anyhow, these are just my ideas - and I'm just unhappy that I missed another IW5M release by just a little...

Are you kidding me? as of myself, I visit 4D1 everyday for quite a lot of time and I have, at all times read ALL the topics in EVERY forum (other than the regional ones) But that's just me.

That might be a view, but then again, you can't do anything without a bit of luck. The point here is to decrease the role played by luck. Which was done successfully.

That would be a rather conservative approach, but wanna know something? less than 2 people on the forums got the key, all were decided on the IRC, and if you stay on the IRC long enough, you can almost figure out when something major is going to happen.

That could have been done, but due to the short life of 4D1, almost all members joined the day that 4D1 was created.

 

I do see some points in your arguments. Even I agree that the "beta-testers" should have been hand-picked over this method, but there is little we can do, and little we SHOULD do. Its NTA's project, he must have his reasons.
