Well yes I know I always ask about LAN and shitz but I'd just like to know if some LAN stuff is planned for IW5M, because well LAN is kinda important especially for a game like MW3.

 

So don't be aggressive I know NTA just released the shit as beta and it's not even public yet but still I'd just like to know if it'll at least be planned at some time in the project as it is for IW4M ;)

Well I hope they'll do like Teknogods did, if Reaver and smurff managed to do this I guess NTA can do it too, still does he really want it :D ?

Hell yeah, I'd really like to see this, IW5M offline would be somewhat a big piece of awesomeness...

LAN will make IW5M much nicer because this game really needs LAN and the game itself has a LAN server browser so it's not a hard thing.

We hope NTA includes LAN.

Well I know LAN is not somewhat obligated to be offline but in my opinion there's no use of a LAN mod if it's not totally offline, so when I say LAN it implies Offline LAN ;)

I see, on my LANs there is always an Internet connection, so it depends.

 

Anyway offline mode doesnt seems to be NTA's priority.

Ermm, if you're playing with a friend who is cheating in a LAN game, I think it's time to get a new friend...

I believe the problem is Level Hacking. It's less likely to cheat on a local network since people do have physical access to players' machine, and well, they're also friends :|. If I'm right about Level Hacking, then separating the profiles for Online and Lan would be a solution, however an annoying one for the players.

I used to play IW4M with my roommates using IWnetserver and it was totally great. I do hope NTA would consider Offline Lan players too.

You didn't get it... providing a way to play without connection to the masterserver would mean that people could find a way to play online without connection to the masterserver.

Like in the past, when people were using a local iwnetserver to play online and bypass the ban.

Well there's the solution of a standalone LAN version, like it does not have the same exe and it can't connect to the masterserver at all, this would be sweet, also I guess it would be easier to make for NTAuthority as he would not have to worry about all the security matters...

 

So we would have two exe, one for online play and the second for LAN play ;)
