What do I set the detect and start exe so that Xfire picks it up? Tryna get my hours logged :>

Open Xfire_games.ini

then find call of duty modern warfare 3 and replace it with this

for launcher exe maybe Launch_IW5M.exe ?? and not iw5m.dat.

detect exe is IW5M.dat

It's not working for me.. I did everything said...

Do I need to go through detecting game manually in xfire or just edit that games.ini file ?

Do I need to have steam installed ?

 

 

EDIT: nevermind, got it working

 

I changed this line:

LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Valve\Steam\InstallPath

 

To this(where your mw3 install is):

LauncherDirKey=D:\Program Files\Call of Duty- Modern Warfare 3\LaunchIW5M.exe

 

So now when I go manual detect game in xfire, it doesnt ask me for steam access exe, it asks for iw5m launch exe . and I don't need to have steam

 

Whole parameter should look like this:

only then mw3 freez so if

mw3 freez turn off xfire

Myself and others have found with xfire enabled in-game, IW5M freezes before you can spawn and requires Ctrl-Alt-Delete to shut it down. Disabling xfire in-game solved the problem, so if you do this, it may not work for you. For some people it might work.

Just make your mw3 in window mode(borderless) as u wont be able to use xfire ingame.by using windowed mode just alt+tab its almost like chatting in game.

delete /valve/steam part...

launcher: LaunchIW5M.exe

detect: iw5m.dat

 

turn off xfire ingame cause it will make your game freeze...

it will still count your hours in game...
