so hey everybody , what's been up? i guess i grew accustomed to saying this , so here it is for the third time : hackers every where. to be completely honest i really appreciate what you guys did , offering us this free online experience , mad love for the 4d1 team , but you need to fix this problem as soon as possible ,the hackers are like breeding and multiplying , Frankly , i can't distinguish if someone's hacking or he's good , there's aimbotting pieces of shit and wallhackers practically in every server , the game is unplayable , i over looked the ultra powered akimbo models , but i can't over look this , so please consider fixing this , thank you for your time , i'm out :)

Wait for NTA to realize that project synthesis is a mistake. Until then, keep playin' with those 'haxors'.

But honestly, I don't really see many hackers in-game. True, I haven't really played in 2 months, but I play for a couple of minutes to a half an hour every week, and I haven't seen a single cheater. You said you can't distinguish good players from cheaters, then assume they're just good.

Also, play on heavily moderated servers, and ask the admins of the servers you like to be a moderator so you can help them fight against these cheating kids.

the issue really is the idea to allow legacy clients to connect to our servers. since they don't have any anti-cheat (well, they do, but it's easy to bypass and is pretty crap as far as I've heard), they come to our servers and cheat. we can't do anything about them, since they can spoof XUID and as such they cannot be blocked by any sort of blocking system that servers have access to (IP's can be changed easily be re-booting a router). and the fact that our system dosen't have a key system, as explained by Pigophone in another post

This is the current situation.

IW4m is semi-compatible with aRev and other projects, which means that anti-cheat can't be installed on all clients joining a server.

If this 'Project Synthesis' was to be turned off, it would mean:

1) Everyone has anti-cheat

2) Everyone can take advantage of IW4m's new features

Although, there is a problem with the current anti-cheat.

Banned players can simply make a new account, or even bypass the ban completely (or even bypass the authentication, so they don't even need an account).

Banned players can make a new account because currently, there are no unique IDs that can identify a player's network/system (aIW's XUID).

The reason players can bypass the ban is that NTAuthority has not bothered to create the key system, rendering dedicated servers checks useless.

Although, the reason NTA hasn't created the keys system is because it would prevent aRev users joining.

keys are irrelevant, it's easy enough to create anonymous authentication. the only reason I haven't done so is that it'd exclude aRev players, which for many servers make up a large portion of the playerbase.

most in-depth explaination I could come up with

Well obviously , the RevOps users are the one hacking in every servers , why don't you guys just ban them and leave the legit 4d1 players play a hacker-free game and experience MW2 as it needs to be experienced , it's a no brainer , apparently the RevOps users are some pieces of shit wanting to sabotage and ruin the game.

>revops

>iw4m

Are you an idiot?

RevOps is a project for T5, not IW4.

The problem is with legacy clients, and our support for them. We could stop the entire flow, but NTA won't, because apparently they contribute to the userbase.

The entire userbase of aRev nowadays to my knowledge is about 200 active players.
