In servers where I would have a good 70 ping in (or any server) I would get lag spikes. Like internet lag.

It's every 30 seconds or so.

I have tried so many things like running as admin, resetting the router, internet settings, firewall, etc.

Pleasseee help this is perpetual and so annoying.

Try moving closer to the router if you are far away, that is if you are using wireless connection

Also make sure that you arent downloading anything and that any applications which areusing the internet are closed, even after utorrent finishes downloading it starts to seed so make sure thatn if u download torrents then the are shut, you can also try to reconfigure your router, if the problem still continues then talk to ur IPS provider, sometimes it not your fault and its the servers fault. Also using some software as ccleaner to remove caches myt help

i have the same. i don't want to complain because it's free, but its not playable like this when your ping suddenly jumps to 600ms every 20 seconds. that phenomenon was also present in iw4m when i tried it and i eventually decided not to use it anymore.

i assume its because nta abuses the internet connection of us players as botnet to flood "enemies". i have no other explanation because all cad games run perfectly for me in mp, even the old m1 client from nta.

Yeah I remember earlier they were trying to DDoS someone.

 

Not a good way to treat people playing the game, but that's what you get for playing IW5M.

I've tried moving the router closer (it's in a different room).

Can you try connecting directly to the modem/router ? Also tried diffrent server ? Closed down torrents, web related stuff and so on ?

I can't connect directly to the modem.

And yes, all torrent clients/downloads/browsers have been closed.

It happens on every server too. I don't think it's the servers either because when I refresh the list sometimes the top pings are 500+

I reinstalled the wifi adapter driver and I'm seeing improvement. I'll reply back again if it happens.

I had issues way back with pings jumping, Run MalawareBytes, update it and see if you have any "bad" programs, something might be hijacking you.

Also run Ccleaner etc..

 

You should also do system cleaning on regular basis to ensure nothing is hidden in the background.

 

So if the above make any change.

exactly. that never happend in tekno. that's why i think my theory is true. if someone has power (in this case a high userbase because of a free game) he will abuse it. the past has proven it.

 

 

the matches get quite uninteresting with those random lag spikes. but again no complaining, i already ditched iw4m & iw5m.

Just to clarify, these issues are client-sided, meaning we can't do much to fix it other than trying to help you fix your internet/network connection. Better option for you is to contact your ISP, since they are more specialised and have tools to detect issues in your connection.

This topic reminded me that I have simular problem.One day I was playing TeknoMW3, suddenly there was lag spikes and my ping was around 400-500 and after 30sec, game started running normally, with ping around 50-70. After 2,3 minutes, again the same. Lag spikes and after 20-30sec, normall. I though it was TeknoMW3, so I tried IW4M, and lag spikes are there too. So, it wasn't game. I tried reseting the router, changing modem, everything I could think of, and nothing. Also, when I watch Youtube videos and livestreams on 720p and 1080p, I get the same thing! Videos are going smooth, suddenly after 3-4 minutes of watching, lag spikes 20-30sec, and again smooth video. I can't play very well with this thing, if you have help please reply to this topic.Lag spikes started around a month or so, I was playing normally back then.

 

EDIT: Also I tried re-installing Windows 7 and playing same games on Windows XP, and nothing changed.

I started thinking that is something with graphic-card or something.

Once again, try contacting your ISP, since they are often able to trace the problem.

Well, its weird because I dont get any laggs even when hosting on one of my PCs. I even tried on the weakest one(2GB ram, 3,2GHZ Pentium D Single-core) and nobody complained

That was in AlterMW3, not IW5M. This has been completely coded from scratch and has no DDoS functionality.
