Hello everyone I have a problem I can not boot iw4m we clik on the program but nothing happens I tried to uninstall the game more than once and nothing happens for the record I have:

windows 7

just bought the game on steam

Does it work when you start original Steam MW2?

 

Try running iw4m.exe instead of iw4mp.exe and make sure you have these files http://fourdeltaone.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2040

I've already tried but will not start

This is probably a stupid question, but did you download all *FOUR* files from viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2040

 

They include iw4m.dll, libnp.dll, raw.iwd and iw4m.exe. You put the raw.iwd file in your "main" folder, and the rest go in the root MW2 folder. You then run iw4m.exe to play.

yes i download all files

if run iw4m throug steam ore from the steam folder then you have to rename the iw4.exe to iw4m.exe...that was my problem....

I give up I downloaded the net framework 4 and I started iw4m as admin and it does not work, I will try on the computer of my brother

Make sure that ..

You have all the files,

You firewall doesn't block anything,

You actually start iw4m.exe,

Your drivers are up-to-date,

 

.. can't think of anything else right now tbh

 

Oh yeah, try closing all unnecessary programs (e.g.: other games, .. idk)

I solved the problem by creating a file iw4m.ini I entered my login credentials and now I start the dedicated server

I don't get it though. I've been desperately trying to fix it. Going from "dlc1_ui_mp" and 2, and preview_mp... it sucks.

Now, I'm missing "preview_mp_abandon"... Anyone want to help me?

 

Ohyeah. And when I play mw2 on steam, it doesn't even connect to IWNet. It just goes straight to it and tells me there's no one on. So now, I can't play mw2 at ALL.

You need the map packs (DLC) which can be downloaded or copied from your old alterIW folder bought from steam.

This is because IWnet sucks, and takes about 10-15 minutes to fetch players and lobby stats. You can still search for a game (better if you're in a party) even if it says '0 players'
