The dislikes on the video are actually a reaction to the whole Machinima fiasco. A guy making videos for Machinima tried to quit, but Machinima said: "Fuck you, you're with us forever". Turns out they have a perpetual notice in the contract that gets signed. So half the gaming community is going berserk on them now. A couple of days ago they posted videos and immediately removed them because of the number of dislikes they were getting.

AlterIW was in a grey area from the beginning. As much as I hate Activision, they were actually right there, because the game was freely available. 4D1 is supposed to become a legit mod. We don't need idiots like you to push us in the grey area again. Because they can prove that the checks can be avoided, thus putting the legitimacy of this project to question.

Probably not. You can always backup your stats to be sure (they're the non-config files in the players/ folder).

Have you also re-downloaded raw.iwd?
