(although a pain in the ass)

it doesn't seem like something I'd automate...

What do you exactly mean by that?

Automatically search the string and replace.

But yeah, in wich IWD are those sound files, and what are their names?

would use excel though

My bad... used notepad++ :P

Edit: won't make much difference... 8-)

But ok, a couple of ctrl+f and it should be done.

The sound files are located in iw_13.iwd. There is a folder called "mp" inside the "sound" folder, and it contains many multiplayer sounds, including promotion, challenge completion, weapon unlocks...

The killstreaks are named as mp_killstrk_xx, so YES the sound files exist, but I don't know why infinity ward didn't assign them to the new killstreaks!

It's all NTA's job, hope he makes it.

Are the soundaliases for these actually defined?

In English General please.

They're gonna have to shoot their way to the extraction point

Notice: You bring those men home in one piece (I think it's not 1, it's actually one. You forgot: "I need this man Volk alive" too).

Ontopic:

Same question, will it be done, since we located the sound files??

Fixed.

Also lets stop this so we stop creating spam :P

not exactly, it's not a single string you need to replace.

also, why would you care about 'which IWD' they're in? there's a soundalias, it points to one or multiple .wav files and the fucking quake filesystem code figures out where it's located in the searchpath

We both know you need to modify a line for each killstreak :P

I care to know where they are to know their names (aka soundalias). I know it will pick no matter what IWD they're in, but you have to know what to put on the csv, and nothing like opening the right IWD, test the wav files and copy those soundalias to the csv.

Btw, did you do it already? :P (takes longer to write all this than to replace the values) lol

Wow... that DUMP is so big that not even flushnet could send it down!

Anyway, you know that I like testing everything properly before consider something done (aka got back home now, gonna listen to the sounds on iw_13)

Good, I think you can edit them too (didn't try yet). Tell me then if they can be assigned.

Опубликовано:

Well, I took a quick look at the assignments yesterday, and it really is a mess. There's _jet sounds everywhere :P I got the killstreaks on a tests server and then checked the sounds on the iwd and compared with the table. It's actually loading the sounds correctelly, but according to the mess that it was the assignment.

And it's not like me or you can fix it. It has to be fixed and then NTA has to compile it on the client. I wish I could help NTA, but I didn't understand the meaning and the values on all of the tables.
