What do you feel about DICE now?

ULTRA gay. Anyways, I remember a similar thing happening with BF2 when a widescreen mod was released. (Correct me if I'm wrong, not entirely sure.) Could have seen this coming.

Could be, but a proper widescreen mod would enlarge the FOV, giving players using it an advantage.

This mod just makes things look better, nothing wrong with that imho as long as the other soldiers don't stand out too much.

Since that guy doesn't mention any "advantages" with that mod (also none from DICE either this far), they clearly have the worst reason ever to ban people for using it.

Eventually, I watched the video without knowing which were the images with the mod. Funnily enough, the ones I considered to look better were the original BF3 ones. Therefore my next thought: it doesn't really make the game look better, but rather make it look different, which makes it appealing to the recurrent player, that is already tired of the original color grading/correction.

On-topic, I don't really understand why would they ban players for using it, the difference isn't that noticeable anyway to make it stand as a "texture hack".

The graphics look like in CS:S. The blue tint only makes the graphics look better.

This is neither Half-Life, Quake or Unreal. Modding and making the game playable (in BF3's case) is forbidden.

And for the 10, 000th time - BF3 sucks. :)

Yet you still play it.

I bought it for 10E, played it 1H (I really gave it a shot and it was funny to fuck with people, shooting RPG's in their face) but the slow-paced gameplay, sluggish feel, blue tint and the rest of the problems of the game (the fact that a player that lies in a corner can hide 50% of his player model) made me to give the account to a friend. :)
