Seems like it's Windows dependant after all. 3.6gHz i5 750 should score more than 2.8gHz i5 760. They are basically the same CPU, except for the frequency.

What if he has his CPU overclocked to 3,8Ghz or 4Ghz?

Can't wait to get a new HDD later this month, this one is killing me with it's shitty performance.

Maybe you should just get an SSD instead of a HDD if you want high performance.

Heavily depends on my budget. I could buy a Kingston 120Gb SSD, but not sure if that's enough space for me. Having 2 drives is not an option ATM, don't ask why.

I'm going to do it anyway. Why is it not an option for you to have two drives? You could just tape the SSD to the bottom/top/behind the motherboard tray.

I have place for another disk. There are many reasons why I cba to add another one. Main one is that my current HDD is about to fail really soon. I get Windows warning to back up my shit every few hours, and I simply don't have the budget to buy both HDD and SSD ATM. Second reason is that I used all the power plugs on this single cable on my modular PSU, and adding another cable is a nightmare since I have to get it through a very narrow space and my cables are sleeved and super hard, so, unless I want a case without the side, it's a very difficult task. There'a a few more reasons. I could manage with a single 120gb SSD untill I buy another case (again) and then get another 1Tb HDD. I don't use much space, but if I ever get overboard and fill all 120Gb, I'll be forced to delete shit. I hope you understand my dilemma.

I would not recommend Kingston SSD as the chance of getting BSOD is pretty high, you're better off with Samsung 830.

how the fuck would a drive cause a STOP error bugcheck outside of NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM/corruption on system files placed on the drive

Samsung SSDs of same size are 40-50% more expensive in here. I'd rather deal with occasional BSOD than waiting another month untill I get my allowance so I can buy more expensive SSD.

The Crucial M4, Intel SSDs and Samsung SSDs are your options.

Or do you consider buying a product that dies within 6 months not a waste of money?

Kingston has lower failure rate than Crucial. Intel is lowest, and Samsung is just a bit better.

What's your source?

According to this French article, Kingston has a higher failure rate than Crucial.

My point is kingston isn't reliable as Samsung, but I know you prefer HDD's :P

My brother have overlocked it. But I'm not sure how much sadly.

You should be able to see that with CPU-Z.
