Just wanted to ask: Does AlterIW (MW2) Will be still playable?

I've heard that AlterIW will be down but i can still paly it! I don't know how.. Please tell me how is it possible that the server is down and i can still play! (Or it isn't.)

 

I've looked areound the "Stats" and found out that it sill have a loads of player! Will it really be shut down, Or you'll try to maintain it still or what? I'm so confused... Now that i saw that IW4M topic (Legitimate MW2 copy thing) i'm aware that i will not be able play it. (I know it I know... "Get a legit copy you little bum kid..." but here in my country it's nearly impossible! [Hungary] ) So please somebody on that forum can please clear my confusion and tell me what is going on?

aIW will be shut down within a week I guess, that's why they created this community. aIW is indeed still playable for some players, and for some, not. Even tho it contains (almost) all features of aIWM2 (What I've heard).

aIW (free version) will be shut down soon.

There will be created a new version of it, the IW4M that will be based on aIW2 and this game will only WORK if you own the STEAM version of the game. You have to buy the game if you wanna play on it, it's the same as TeknoGods Mod.

The old aIW will be shut down soon, along with the forums, aOps and aMW3.

The new aIW will require a legit copy of the game, mainly to avoid legal trouble with the fatcats at Activision. So yeah. Get that and you'll be able to play it.

Hungary has always had a strong CoD playing and modding community and I respect them for that.

It is most unfortunate that we are getting slammed against a wall, but that's it. I think everything continues on CoD 4: MW. Good luck.

No, everything will continue on COD: MW2, Not COD 4.

I don't see what's the point on doing Cod4 anyway.

It already has dedicated servers and mods...

It will just be a lot of work for NTA and his devs to make something that already exists...

For what reason would everything continue on CoD4? Maybe as an offset clan or community, but there is no reason for 4D1 to continue on MW. It has everything it needed to become an excellent PC shooter. Mods, dedis, custom maps, everything. MW2 on the other hand... That thing needs attention. Lack of dedicated servers is what drew a lot of people out of playing MW2 in the first place. Plus, adding mod support would be invaluable. All that while Activision loses no money. It's a win-win.

I think some people are just confused and don't understand the naming of this new project.

Same here, unfortunately things like this are acting as a warning siren in my head, i hope that the whineing 12 year olds will just leave NTAuthority alone, and not pressurise him into something wrong :S

no, that's some server messing up archive dvars; ui_drawcrosshair 1 should fix that
