Sometimes I find myself spending hours upon hours on MMORPGS, fps games, whatever. And I wondered, why do we like them so much. I end up feeling sorry for myself 'wasting' so to speak, my time on these games. (I sound like an old man.)

But why do we play them? Do we want the feeling of winning? The look of the graphics? Or what?

Maybe because its fun?

I mostly play games for fun. I dont see other reason to play them.

You can do stuff in games, that aren't allowed in real life. Or stuff you physically can't do.

 

For example:

You can't steal a car in real life -> you play Grand theft auto instead of stealing a car in real life.

if you can't figure out any reasons, then you must have a mental issue.

Why would you even need to find out why it is fun? Is the fun itself not satisfactory enough?

 

I just asked myself: Why are video games fun?

And to be honest, I couldnt find a proper, satisfactory explanation. But that does not bother me. Its fun. Period.

Animals were programmed to eat, mate, sleep and fight.

We play video games out of boredom or trying to distract us from bigger problems.

Video games are are fun though

i play videogames for fun, social, and to do unrealistic stuff. and i dont question why.

 

off topic: my problem is that i have recently been putting it ahead of my school work, which is starting to hurt me more, because im in college.....and im worried what is going to happen if i need to get a job and i cant push my gaming back.......:|

I'm in college also I have to been school work ahead of video games :/ Video games helps us college students relieve stress

but its hard to control at times.

I used to play games for the purpose of distracting myself from some relatively significant problems.

And ofcourse to spend time.
