Hey, my friend wants to play with me using 4D1, but he downloaded installator, selected the folder where he has MW2, then he clicked install, it typed Installation was successful... but when he goes to Start (in Windows) there is no Play IW4M (Modern Warfare 2). What to do with it please ?

 

PS: In Appdata/Local is not IW4 folder too.

And so is your friend, if you ran the installer and none of you can find "IW4M" folder on %localappdata%

When you find it, just create a shortcut for "LaunchIW4M.exe" to launch the game.

Note that the manual installation will overwrite some critical files so the Steam version won't be available anymore

Only if the Steam version loads zone\alter folder, wich I doubt.

Also, although it's a manual installer doesn't mean that you have to put it on the game folder. You can put the updater on a folder on desktop and it will still ask you for a game path, just like the installer does.

So, no need to mix files with the manual installer.
