iPhone 4 downgrading goodies, not... help ?

Опубликовано:

Soooooooo, I downgraded my iPhone 4 from iOS 6.0 (had to 'restore' it after an issue which upgraded it) back down to 5.1.1 and I kinda... lost all of my contacts, pictures, videos, etc. Sooo, now I'm wondering how can I get them back ? There seems to be no 'back up' in iTunes(don't know how that happend as there should be atleast two ._. ) and Dr. Fone's Wondershare didn't find shit... Any idea as to what can I do to get everything back ? Thankies <3

Should have manually backed up /var/mobile using any of the usual means.

Which are ? And judging by your 'should have', I'm on a wild guess I'm basically screwed, right ?

either you're lucky and your SIM have stored them, or else you're fucked.

Nope it hasn't... although, I have this crazy idea that the backups are 6.x only supported, so I'm re-restoring back to that, then just uploading/saving everything somewhere and downgrading again. :3

sooo, you installed another os on the phone. And you didnt know that during the process everything is set back to default (which includes a full data wipe)?

It shouldn't have happend, or well my back-ups should have stayed on iTunes.

Hm, I wouldnt trust such things when doing stuff like reinstalling an OS.

Ah well, seems like I'm fucked. Even after the restore, the only back up's that are availiable are the one's that I made today, after the downgrade ._.

If anyone has any idea what I can do, please do tell.

JoeyB":1dzglhnw]There isn't really anything you can do unless you've synchronized your contacts with something else (G-Mail, etc).

Well... I haven't :\ also, I made a thread on the Apple forums, some guy explained to me that I'm basically screwed...

Ghosty, I'm sa to say that your phone had full restore(downgrade)

I did this one time with my neighboor's iPhone and he lost all his contacts/photos/etc since I forgot to do a sys backup(you said you didn't make one)

And he liked to store his contacts on the Notes app, not even the Contacts app( you can try retrieving them from the SIM CARD, it works)

So yes, you are screwed =S

What kind of OS are you using? In case it's Windows, have a look at C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup for Windows 7/Vista or the respective path on xp. There should be at least one folder in it. Check the size and report it here, there is a fairly good chance that the backup is still there but not shown by iTunes.

Yeah... I found out about that... Someone already gave me a program that checks the backups there and tells you which version is it on, when was it backed-up, etc. and it seems like all of the back-ups that are there(3 of them), are all from the time when my phone went all 'delete-everything' , sadly :\

There could still be some files remaining. I would check the size to ensure that they're really gone ;)
