How do I get the Task Scheduler to detect a crash or hang from IW5M?

Опубликовано:

Right click on "computer" and select "manage".

Then expand the event viewer, windows regitries, application (all this may differ a bit in english since I'm translating what shows up for me in portuguese)

You can then filter by "application error" to find the errors that happened your applications (such as iw5m_server.exe)

we are trying to get the server to restart after the "crash language text" has crashed the server.

as far as I seen in the event log there is no event.

I would think the "task scheduler" needs an event that is logged.

am I mistaken?

we tried a program called "restart on crash." and it was not detecting the hang from the "text that crashes servers"

Please help. we would like to keep our server running without watching it 24/7.

Опубликовано:

The problem is that the application "hangs", and most of those applications will only detect actual crashes (they usually only monitor if the process stops running)

Anyway, a fix for that will come soon. Just be patient for these days.

ok thank, you this is what I thought. I was not sure if it would help use to use task scheduler or not. now I know. and knowing is half the battle. gooooo joe's.

I was also wondering if some one had a tool/program for restarting the server when it goes invisible.

I know the problem is in our Router we host from and it may be about a month before we get a new router to test this issue with.

So, is there a way to restart the server upon it going invisible to the 4d1 service. again maybe using task scheduler?

Опубликовано:

No such application exists, as it would be considered useless in a logical way.

You would need an application that would parse the serverlist and identify your server. Then, it would have to restart the service if the server wouldn't be found on the list.

But in theory, restarting your server won't make it show up on the list again (except in this case of a server hang).

Well, maybe it makes sense after all, if we consider that people run scripts and certain script combinations can crash a server after some time...

Опубликовано:

example:

script + task scheduler= server restart

script reads server list for ip

script example:;

{if not"127.0.0.1" = [log file error #1337}

now task scheduler example:

[if error 1337 restart server.exe] - [wait] 600 seconds

well that is the theory. now only, if only I could code it.

also for got to add the part were it down lods the html file and scans it like a text file for the ip of our server some how.

also I have 2012 visual basic full but have no idea how to code in it.:)

I thank you for all your help I understand if you wish to end this topic.

Or if someone could have a coder contact us. keep in mind we have no money to pay him or her.
