I keep getting this weird error when starting IW4M:

 

I tried starting 4D1 MW3 and it worked fine, does anyone have a solution to this problem? I've already re-installed 4D1 and MW2, same problem, even restarted my PC.

You shouldn't even be using iw4m.exe

Use LaunchIW4M.exe to make sure that your game is updated (many of those crashes have been fixed in the latest updates)

When I click LaunchIW4M.exe, it says that... and I've updated, everything is up-to-date, it still says that :S

Try deleting caches.xml and iw4m.dat/iw4m.exe and then run LaunchIW4M.exe and let it redownload them.

Try to open the windows updater and update your service pack and everything. That might help.

Just tried that, it re-downloaded iw4m.exe and got same error... I don't get how IW4M is the only game giving this error on my comp.

Do you have .NET framework 4 installed? Not sure if it's required to be honest, but I guess worth a shot.

As I'm pretty sure iw4m.exe/iw4m.dat (same thing) uses it; like I said though not really 100% sure. Back when my .NET Framework 3.5 was screwed up (before reinstalling w7) I had to launch iw4m.exe (iw4m.dat renamed) directly to play and couldn't update because it'd insta-crash.

He probbly means iw4m.dat

He's clearly launching iw4m.exe, thinking that's a clean file from the updater (look at his print)

 

@OP: use dependency walker http://www.dependencywalker.com/ to launch iw4m.dat, and see where does it crash.

I wouldn't be surprised if it crashes at ieshims.dll

Yup, crashed at GPSVC.dll and IESHIMS.dll. Suggestions?

ieshims doesn't need registration, don't know what you're on

So this problem is un-fixable? :S

When I don't know how to fix a problem, I just reinstall windows and fix all problems at once.

IW4M still isn't working, if anyone has a fix to this problem please reply, all suggestions appreciated.
