I post today to ask you a question: How could I add weapons or attachments in IW4M ?

I tried to create some fire modes, for exemple, but when i launch a match, it says:

But before, it said "could not find altweapon 'ak47_sm_mp' for weapon 'ak47_mp'" (ak47_sm_mp is my new weapon (an ak-47 in semi-auto).

 

So, I would know if there a solution to add weapons, or attachments.

I saw that it was possible in CoD4, so I think that it would be possible in MW2.

currently a weapon has to exist in the asset database for it to be loaded by the game (there's some useless IsAssetDefault check which checks if it exists there)

So, according to your post, i should make them in the asset database. But how can I make them in the database ? There is no mod tools, so it iss a bit harder.

Those weapons already existed in certain singleplayer maps.

There are no mod tools, end.

Best people can do atm is porting stuff from the singleplayer (and possibly CoD:OL).

Unless you feel like writing a function that lets you create a weapon struct and call DB_AddXAsset then you are out of luck.

i would sugest for weapon modding first getting hang of cod 4 asset manager it will give more more of a understanding of what your doing XD
