installed it and when i try to run, nothing happens. Theres one new file appears only "iw4mp.exe.4464.STEAMSTART" How do i get it to work?

I am having the same problem. I downloaded the manual installer and extracted it to the folder containing the file iw4mp.exe - but the game still won't start. Did I extract it to the right place? Any ideas?

You need to start the game with either iw4m.exe (not mp), or LaunchIW4M.exe

I also downloaded the file iw_23.iwd and put it in game folder MW2/MAIN - but I am running the game from a virtual drive onto which I mounted the iso file (using OFSMount) by clicking LaunchIW4M - so not sure if that is seeing what I'm putting in the Activision/MW2 folder?

 

This is so frustrating, the game is loading but when you click 'Start game' the screen goes black! :-(

Erm, you probably clicked the wrong link on the page.

 

 

You used that link in Google right? If so, you are supposed to click the Magnet Link, which will open up a torrent client. If you lack a torrent client, get uTorrent.

yes that is the link I used and it downloaded an application called AlterIWNet_-_DLCs_Repository_secure, which then started installing the other thing.

 

I have uTorrent, downloading from the magnet link now...

Will this DLCs Repository solve my problems? Once the torrent is downloaded what do I have to do to it? Still got another hour to go.

Yes, you will be able to play on the new maps, plus it will solve the iw_22/23.iwd issue. Can't be certain you won't get any issues in the future, but I/we are always here to help.

Put the iwd files in main and the ff files in zone/dlc.
