Everytime I try to connect to a server, it keeps displaying "Awaiting Challenge" or " Awaiting connection" and sometimes the famous screen " Setting up game".

I deleted the three .iwd files. Also, I deleted the "demo" file and the "caches" one...still the same..So, any ideas or solutions ?!

Maybe try to type this into your console:

sv_maxping 0

This is error is something that nobody actually has a solution.

Maybe you wanna try something that would speed up the time that is taken to load the IW4 files; for example defragging your harddrive.

Got the same problem myself too. You could also try to check out if there are any errors showing up, when this thing happens.

That's all I know.

This is probably server-side issue, so not much you can do about it.

Maybe also try dedicated server update tool.exe.

You are right. You should open ports in your router. Here is a pic from my router:
