So I heard you want to play your favorite (or not) Origin games without having to have that piece of spyware software running (I mean Origin, duh)...

Well, I just happen to have a solution for you!

 

You see, every (new) Origin game has this nice little file called .par which resides where the main game executable is.

By doing some nice modifications to this file you can tell the game that Origin is not actually needed to play!

 

"But how do I modify this file?" you ask. It's actually really simple!

 

Simply visit my -new- website, select your .par file, submit and you'll be provided with a brand new Origin-free .par file.

Then, all you have to do is replace the old one with the new one and launch your game as you normally would (via Battlelog, by double-clicking the executable, etc.).

 

Feel free to kill Origin because it won't be needed anymore! (only for updates and whatnot)

 

This method should work for any Origin game that has the new DRM system (awc.dll or Activation.dll).

Note: This is not a way to play Origin games for free. This only applies to games you already own via Origin that have the new DRM system and have been played at-least once on your system.

No, what r1911 did was to unpack the game executable (a/k/a completely strip it from the DRM) and then distributed it, but that only worked for that specific version of the game and later on it was 'detected' by punkbuster.

This technique works for all game version and does not modify any executable code, therefore being undetectable by anti-cheat systems.

Just a quick update: I just fixed a small bug that would prevent .par files for newer games to get properly identified by the DRM.

Those who tried to generate a .par for SimCity try again!

Why do people actually care what companies find out about them? I give 0 fucks if Google, EA, and tons of other companies spy on me, they do this to everyone else, and I don't see anyone's life getting ruined by it.

Yeah, right, huge corporations will target a single, meaningless person based on what he does with his PC. I think EA spyware is more of statistical nature, it probably keeps track of all your games so it can compare your Steam, Origin and whatnot collection, and determine how much of your games are pirated, just to compare sales/pirated ratio. They really can't do shit.

You don't really need sophisticated software to check how many games you have installed, then compare them to your digital collection.

Or you simply don't want to wait for the game to launch Origin to do its weird cloud save syncing and then launch the game again.

and origin may not even work, like for me 90% of the time launching a game gives system error 5 in the origin logs but a no-op in the UI

I don't own FIFA13, so I can't know for sure, but it's a newer game so it should work. Online will work if you bough the game from Origin.
