Think of how little (Possibly) the chance was of the big bang even happening, then think of how the first molecules formed, then think about how lucky we are that the right molecules formed, and our galaxy, The Milky Way, our solar system, our planet. What were the chances of that happening? Very very very exteremely little. Then you should also think about how lucky we were that life was even created, on our planet, how we are just the right distance away from the sun and how we were lucky, that the right species evolved into us... The human, and even then, think about how little of a chance that the sperm cell that created you, was one of millions, that reached your mothers womb.

 

Life, our planet, our solar system, everything. Everything, is lucky to exist.

And I personally think that if I wouldn't be here, then what is the matter about thinking about it? I'd rather think about life and its meanings, how to get old and how to make it so that when you are about to die you can turn your look back and tell to yourself "Dang it, that was a great life the one I lived". Give answers to some of the most asked questions (e.g. read my signature). And that is philosophy.

I don't understand why people always think of it as a bad thing. To some, it is liberation from... whatever you might find bad or humiliating, such as dementia.

 

I couldn't of said it better. Death isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'd rather live than die, however. Well, at least right now. But to be honest, I'm not really afraid of death itself, as an ending. How I die, is a different story though.
