Meh, about the same for me, R.A.T.7 Contagion and a cheap keyboard. I bought it only because it's white, LED backlit, and it has those slim keys.

Why not have one? For instance it was useful for me when I had to install my Wi-Fi reciever drivers. If I had no optical drive, I would have to transport my PC across the house just so I can wire it to the internet and then download the drivers. Seems easier to just give $10 for a basic optical drive.

I have a smart phone, but I also need drivers to connect it to a PC, and it was a brand new PC, without any drivers. Trust me, having optical drive didn't hurt me a bit.
