I see some therads about porting guns from Cod4, MW3, CoD China, and such, but is it possible to make our own weapons?

 

Instead of using ported guns from other games, you *the IW4M developers*, could create guns from scratch.

 

I'm sure it's not impossible to do, but would it ever be a possibility?

NTA won't release the iw_tool, I think, so it's not going to be possible.

People that actually know how to animate. Seen a few guys on WAW/COD4 that can do it but that's like 0.01% of the population probably.

If you don't know what it is then why are you asking? You should know what it is if you're somewhat acustomed to it.

 

 

Edit: My bad I thought you wanted to do it. Anyway nobody has the time to make new weapons it's way too time consuming. (I do mean time consuming, a weapon takes weeks to months. And that's probably just the anims and model.)

I have some guns around my house, a 3D scanner and motion tracking rig (Multi-Kinect system).

Probably wouldn't very take long to do, I could scan them in and fix them up. Would they need completely new anims ?
