I played on the weekend, now I started up the game today and it said incorrect login, I assume my someone has hacked my account. My email is still registered with it, but the username is unknown. I have tried previous usernames I was using and none of them worked. Could someone assist me?

1) No one would hack your account it's a forum what is the use of hacking an account with not so many posts

2) Did you change your name / password among the time that you played online?

3) Wait for someone to possibly check your IP.

Yes, I've changed my name, but not since my last login.

Go to your Mw2 folder where you installed it. Find Iw4m.ini ( if its Mw3 find Iw5m.ini in your Mw3 folder ) and delete it. Login with your current password and username and tell me what happens.

I already tried it, and I just tried it again, no luck, gives me incorrect login combo

 

edit: to clarify this is a 2nd account

Follow these steps accurately. Write them down if you have to

1) Log out from the forums.

2) Log back in with the proper credentials ( current username and pass word )

3) Delete the .ini file from your game folder.

4) Run LaunchIWXM.exe

5) Log in with the same exact credentials as you use in the forums.

I know how to change accounts but what I'm trying to recover my old account back because it has admin powers in a server and I'm sort of paranoid someone might take control of it.

The credentials I use in the forum are wrong, this is a 2nd account.
