1. You may download the Client Installer from HERE, And Below is a Video for Installing It.

2. These errors are caused by corrupted or missing .iwd files. A list of a couple of the errors and their fixes are in this POST which also include ALL OF THE .IWD FILES. For your most common ones, the iwd's for your error are below. Here is the link to the repository... IWD REPOSITORY

A. Run PSE and deactivate all titles and emblems (via "Reset" button).

B. Run EAM and start MW2 and click import.

C. Ingame you should see the imported stats. Go to Callsigns and select a unlocked title and an unlocked emblem.

D. Change something in "Create a class" and head back to main menu.

E. Type in uploadStats In the game console. Close the game.

F. Start the game again and your rank should be the same with all the challenges.

G. To get the emblems export a new playerstats.txt and edit it with PSE.

H. Have fun with your old stats.

4. If you receive an error like

System.NullReferenceException Object reference not set to an instance of an object
at DBNupdater.Utilities.URLExist(string url)
at DBNUpdater.Updater.(CacheContentFILE) etc.

Then you need to re-install 4D1 client. The installer should add a shortcut to your Start Menu, and if you are launching the game from the files within your game folder, it wont work.

6. There are corrupted/missing files that you need. Whatever iwd file it links you to, download a fresh one from HERE , and replace it with the one in your /main/ folder.

8. If you have recorded a demo on a LEGACY server, then you can't use that demo. It's simply a compatability issue where the older servers use an older protocol that our demo playback doesn't support. You won't be able to run demos from LEGACY servers. LEGACY servers are servers that have the green * at the very end of the server name.

9. Delete config_mp.cfg from your /players/ folder. Config_m2.cfg is what we will be using from now on.

11. If you have a French version or German version etc. And want the English version, Download the Localized English files AND localization.txt Provided by DidUknowiPWN HERE, and place all of the .iwd files in your /main/ folder, and delete your other localize_XXXX.iwd files. Move localization.txt to your game folder.

12. It is quite a simple command. You can either go to your players folder and open up config_m2.cfg and find r_noborder and set it to 0 and save it, or you can copy and paste this in the console.

/r_noborder 0; vid_restart

13. Press ALT + ENTER to go windowed. You are receiving an error in the background. Find out the error, and see if there is a post already about it. If not, feel free to make a new topic.

15. This is normally caused by the NP Server acting up. Simply restart the Game, or try later. Alternatively you may look at number 3.

16. You may delete your m2_config.cfg or just type this in your console:

cg_drawCrosshair 1

and

ui_drawcrosshair 1

17. For the error, Direct X Failed to initialize Properly , You're running another 3D application check task manager to see if you have either another 3D application is open or iw4m.exe open *check when iw4m is not running* if another 3D app/iw4m.dat is running END the process. Now try running the game again.

For the error, Direct X has encountered an Unrecoverable error , Try updating Direct X from HERE, and if that doesnt work then HERE.

18. The installer looks for iw4m.exe or iw4mp.exe . If you don't have that in your MW2 folder, you need it. You can make a new text file and rename the file extension to .exe and rename the file to iw4mp. Then restart the installer and you should be able to install it. Or, you can just download this iw4m.exe and put it in your MW2 folder to let allow you to install.

19. There is currently NO OFFICIAL fix for this.

If you have any steam*.dll files in your Game folder, delete them all EXCEPT FOR steam_api.dll.

Edit the value of "GamePath" (right click -> Modify...) to wherever your game files are located (assuming you moved your game folder to a new place).

37. You must go into your /main/ folder, and for the localized_XXXXXX.iwd files, where XXXXXX is you language, you must rename it to localized_english.iwd , or, whatever your main language was when you originally installed it.

Upgrading your game client:

 

In your game folder, delete everything EXCEPT the folders, binkw32.dll, mss32.dll and localization.txt, then install update tool, run LaunchIW4M and play.

 

 

Also delete the following iwds in MAIN folder...They useless because most of them are already on m2demo folder.

main/iw_25.iwd

main/iw_29.iwd

main/iw_31.iwd

 

Main folder should look like this now.

 

 

Upgrading your game server:

 

1. Download The Dedicated Server Update Tool: HERE

 

2. Put it in your server folder and run dsut.exe before you continue so you can download the relevant files.

 

3. Rename iw4m.dat to iw4m.exe, and use this new iw4m.exe to run the server.

39. If you want to reset your stats there is a current and KNOWN problem with it.

If you see anytime this:

Error: ATTEMPTED REGRESSION (155 -> 155, 10 -> 9, 2600450 -> 2516000)

Then you're trying to revert your stats which is known and NTA is looking into it.

If you noticed the numbers correspond to: UNKNOWN, Prestige, XP.

40. If you get this at start-up,

 

 

 

You need to make sure that there aren't any firewalls, or antiviruses, proxies, etc. blocking the program from accessing the internet.
