This has nothing to do with IW4M, I'm just posting this here since I've looked around the net and not got any suitable solutions, and there are a lot of people out here who actually know a lot about all these things, so any help would be appreciated. This is my error, I was copying files from my PC to my friends hard disk, when suddenly all the copying stopped, and when I checked the folder it looked like this

24lsw1j.png

When I tried to delete it, it said the filename was too long, I tried a lot of things from the file shredder on malwarebytes, unlocker, and I tried to get Robocopy running but it didn't work. I don't know what to do anymore.

P.S: Now when I hit on delete it just says are you sure you want to delete and then nothing happens after I click on Yes.

Edit: Error :

I'm a time traveller, check out the date columns

I really can't understand what has happened here, the names changed plus when you check the properties it says that it's consuming 122GB when I was trying to copy somewhere around just 2gb, and the free space on the HDD was just 116GB, and even now it says 116gb, but the folder properties for the root of that weird subfolders, says it's 122gb. The HDD has a shitty USB connection that sometimes gets disconnected, so it happened about 2-3 times during this copy, and all was fine till maybe the last 10% of files, when everything just started crashing.

I clearly said at the start of my post, this has nothing to do with IW4M, my font cache isn't broken, I mean there are files consuming no real space but showing that they consume about 122GB worth of stuff. It's increased every time I tried to delete it. It's a long path name error and I tried the fixes out there but none work.

I posted this because I have almost ZERO knowledge about how these things work, thought some of you guys Pigo, Tool, Lmaobox, or Zerow might be able to help me with this. This thread was a desperate appeal for help after all my other attempts went down the drain ( google) . And thats why I've posted it in the random section.

@toolbox: this is a long path name error where the names have exceeded 255characters through some magic, now do you know of any tool I could use to force delete this shit. Unlocker, File Shredder, DelinV, didn't work.

Have you tried Command prompt? dlt dir command?

Or take ownership possibly?

"I was copying files from my PC to my friends hard disk"

How do I use " dlt dir command? ' Like I said I no nothing about this stuff.

If you want to stay on the FAT32 filesystem, just do a chkdsk, if you want a more reliable filesystem, do as NTAuthority told you, right click on your hard drive, and press Format, change it to NTFS and you should be ready to go.

I also had this issue, not sure if it fixed it, as I rarely use my pendrive now.

I just can't format my friends HDD, it's his he's got a lot of shit on it. Is there anything other than formatting I could do for it. And I've got 3TB of HDD's and almost all are full, so I can't even copy shit out of his HDD and put it on mine and format it, his has used up about 80% of his 1TB.

My pen drive with some stuff on it had the same problem as you have, I can't remember if I formatted it and then used photorec to recover the data or if I used photorec and then reformatted the drive, but it saved almost everything, the only thing it didn't save was maybe 1 or 2 files, and all the file names. Here is a link where you can read more about it and download it http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec
