I'm not an expert with internet and stuff, but I'm having these annoying lagspikes which makes it hard to play. I get these lagspikes mostly when just seeing an enemy.

Have you updated your graphics software recently?

If you have, try to downgrade to an earlier version of the software.

To MaXaM: try deleting configs in both games, tell us if it works.

Config has nothing to do with it since i already checked cl_packetdup and cl_maxpacket... and i've had alot of configs @ cod4 so that's not the problem. Which could be the problem is wireless internet trough a shitty usb adapter prehaps?

how good is your wlan connection/how far away is your wlan access-point?. wlan-sticks are likely to drop transferrate/ping over high distance drastically (obviously ). for me I'm only getting a good connection if this windows-wirelesscontrol-thingy says at least "good".

Why the hell is it a bad idea?! I'm doing the same, I never get any problems.

Because the singlal may be interfered lowering the quality of it and giving people lagspikes.

I really would live to have a cable instead of wlan but the router is 2 floors down.
