my processor is warming much and I do not know what is the reason, it has new thermal paste and the cooler is clean and is well adjusted

when I open a game like MW3 after 5 min the game gets slow

the processor is a q6600

Same here. The problem is I'm on a laptop do not good ventilation and cooling.

Reapply your thermal paste in a proper way.

 

Re-apply your thermal paste, as the guy above me said. Otherwise clean your PC. That's the main cause of most CPU overheating problems. If that doesn't work, underclock it if your motherboard supports it. Had my T1090 on 3.8GHz, now it's at about 3. Damn you summer!

Yeah,damn summer - my modem heats up to surely more than 40*c and it lags like hell.

 

But back on topic your cpu might be burned(dunno if it's right word).I had my old gt6800,and only way to use it without errors was to put a big fan next to it.

On-Topic, also try putting a fan next to it like he said, it helps a lot!

How long did it take before it completely melted down? Or did it shut down? It should at those temperatures.

Hurr. My Sempron 2800+ can reach that temperature without heatsink as well, but it won't last long until it melts.

Well it had artifacts.Later even at 50c.It was somewhere in disk tray in my very old pc.Maybe sometime i'll cook an egg on it if it would still work

I use aida64 to check temps and it has few tests for cpu too.

In a week or two, your CPU'll be done for if you play games on a daily basis and your PC get's to 65+*C. 80 - 90*C is sure to fuck up your CPU one way or another though. AMD and Intel both recommend to keep their CPU's at a max temperature of about 65*C. Of course, it may wary from CPU to CPU, but they're all pretty much on the same max temp. Keep it below 63*C.

My PC is constantly at 70+C because i don't really like turning off my PC, and i don't really have any problems, I have had it for 2 years, and not a single FPS has dropped. I mean, of course the FPS drops when i haven't given my PC rest in weeks at a stretch, but a rest for an hour or so seems to fix the problem.

i have a gtx 295 and the temperature is

Gpu 1: max 70c

Gpu 2: max 69

is very good at that temperature

i dont know what to do , if the mobo is the problem then im good but if is the proccesor well good bye games

That's bullshit. My Sempron 2800+ idles on 50C and is still going strong after 5/6 years.

 

If that's your logic, then the CPU would instantly die at 98C, which is the thermal shutdown.
