Something different: How noob-friendly is LoL? I've been wanting to try it for a while now but it seems rather complicated.

Play the tutorial, then play vs bots a bit, then I suggest playing a few custom games to get the hang of proper pvp, then you'll be more than capable of playing with everyone else (you'll be placed with new people anyways so it's k).

 

If you play with (high level) friends in pvp then their normal ELO will merge with yours so you'll probably be against level 10-20s if you queue with a level 30. Keep that in mind.

 

Despite that, queueing with friends is real fun. See also:

Easily 500,000 people watching at any given point (550k in quarter finals I think - imagine the numbers for finals).

Simple division says that's $4 for each person for (pretty much) an entire year of competitive plays.

Each team has at least 5 people so that's less than $1.

Compare that with football where you get hundreds of clubs worth billions of pounds... hurr. Not nearly as much as some entertainment industries.
