Game loads, crashes after 5 seconds in the menu.

 

I'm just wondering if there is any progress on this error, I've been getting it since the update to r103 (or something like that) and I would love to play MW2 again.

 

Yes I am aware about removing .iwd's from the m2demo and z_.iwd's from the main folder.

Removing console_mp logs (though I don't see how that would change anything).

Deleting all non-4D1 files from the call of duty modern warfare 2 folder.

I even tried running the Dependency Walker but I couldn't see any issues.

 

I tried removing the game altogether, AppData folder included as well as any registry entries I could find.

Downloaded the entire game again, etc etc

 

Any other steps I could try taking? Curiously enough the game doesn't crash if bring up the console, at least until I try to load a map.
