I was wondering how to enable voice on our server. I don't see the command in my server cfg. I thought there also used to be an issue with voice and there was a line we used to have to add to a gsc file if not mistaken. Any help would be great, thanks.

Voice? As in team chat? That should be binded to a key normally it would be Z

I believe we had to add some line to a gsc file when we played with the previous version last year, I just don't recall what it was and that site is obviously down now. I remember we had to add a line right after playerconnect in the gsc.

Can anyone provide a gsc file that will allow voice to be active on a FFA server? I don't understand why this feature doesn't work with MW2 and works perfectly with the rest of the game series. I know it's possible since it worked with this game on the previous server providers. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I just put this together quickly for you.

I haven't been able to test the functionality, but it loads fine.

 

20+ .gsc files for just setting 3 dvars? :D

 

BTW: Try setting self setClientDvars("cg_everyonehearseveryone",1); in playerlogic.gsc in initClientDvars(){ function (its set to 0 by default). Even though FFA isnt really team-based it gets set to 0... You would only want change that for FFA-Servers i'd guess. EDIT: Just use the file i have attached.

 

Try this and report back pls. Should work for all gamemodes, assuming that only FFA's voice chat is buggy by default. ;)

 

 

You might also want to change

set sv_voiceQuality "7" //(3 is default, 9 max)

in your server.cfg for better voice quality.

Thank you again. I have done everything you advised and we will be able to test it tomorrow. Self setClientDvars("cg_everyonehearseveryone",1 was set to one in the playerlogic.gsc in the voice zip you have provided, so that's covered and it resides in my m2demo folder. Looking back I may have goofed, I put the last iwd file you gave us in the main folder with the other iwds. Thank you again for helping us solve this!

You might also want to change

set sv_voiceQuality "7" //(3 is default, 9 max)

in your server.cfg for better voice quality.

If this works. I will make sure to add this on official server.cfg

 

Has anyone tested it yet? And what about the ffa voice chat, does it work with .iwd i posted? ;)

Any new ideas for this one? I really wish I would have saved my old server folder from the previous game. I know I could find the iwd file and particular section we edited to enable voice under "player connect". Can't even access those old forums now for an answer.
