I was wondering how to enable voice on our server. I don't see the command in my server cfg. I thought there also used to be an issue with voice and there was a line we used to have to add to a gsc file if not mistaken. Any help would be great, thanks.

Voice? As in team chat? That should be binded to a key normally it would be Z

Nope, in FFA. The mics are bound but we can't hear each other, just an icon.

We'll give that a try. Seems to me we had to add a line to the player connect script in the iwd25 file. I just don't remember the details now. Even then, it worked sometimes. Thanks.

Well adding those lines to the server config didn't fix the problem. We can see the line level meter but no voice.

Try putting that in a GSC? And make the server load it?

If you want to use these:

cg_teamChatsOnly 0

cg_chatWithOtherTeams 1

 

it requires sv_cheats, unless you use setclientdvar in a _gsc file.

I believe we had to add some line to a gsc file when we played with the previous version last year, I just don't recall what it was and that site is obviously down now. I remember we had to add a line right after playerconnect in the gsc.

Can anyone provide a gsc file that will allow voice to be active on a FFA server? I don't understand why this feature doesn't work with MW2 and works perfectly with the rest of the game series. I know it's possible since it worked with this game on the previous server providers. Thanks for all the suggestions.

20+ .gsc files for just setting 3 dvars?

 

BTW: Try setting self setClientDvars("cg_everyonehearseveryone",1); in playerlogic.gsc in initClientDvars(){ function (its set to 0 by default). Even though FFA isnt really team-based it gets set to 0... You would only want change that for FFA-Servers i'd guess. EDIT: Just use the file i have attached.

 

Try this and report back pls. Should work for all gamemodes, assuming that only FFA's voice chat is buggy by default.

Thank you again. I have done everything you advised and we will be able to test it tomorrow. Self setClientDvars("cg_everyonehearseveryone",1 was set to one in the playerlogic.gsc in the voice zip you have provided, so that's covered and it resides in my m2demo folder. Looking back I may have goofed, I put the last iwd file you gave us in the main folder with the other iwds. Thank you again for helping us solve this!

We hope to test it this weekend. Things have been kind of busy lately. Sorry for the delay.

Server is running now, still no voice.

Any new ideas for this one? I really wish I would have saved my old server folder from the previous game. I know I could find the iwd file and particular section we edited to enable voice under "player connect". Can't even access those old forums now for an answer.
