It crashes when the console is at "[NP] Sending RPC message with ID 0".

 

Here's the full story:

I recently attempted to solve my long term problem with Windows Update, and found out that I needed to install the Intel Rapid Storage Technology program. I did so, and Windows Updates started working (after 13 long months). But then a few services broke and began acting funny, including Background Intelligent Transferring Service which I think relates to RPC. I searched the web for a few fixes, and applied them (involves a few registry changes and re-registering services and files). At one point, attempting to start the BITS service gave me "module not found" error. I applied a few more fixes, then rebooted the computer. All is well again, but now I'm just presented with this error when trying to play 4D1.

But since that wont really be helpful, it normally can be fixed by doing a reinstall. Just download the installer from the main page and reinstall again. Then try launching the game. Sometimes you will just have to try over and over again. I find myself doing that all the time. Again, sorry for the inconvenience.

I tried that, but it didn't work. I deleted a few old files left over from the original alterIWnet and the "bootstrap" and "cache" folder, and it's working now. I haven't played any maps yet, so I'm not sure if it's 100% working. I'll have to test it later, because I have to go out right now. Thanks for your help!
