As I am having a surgery this thursday, and it is my first, I want to know if some of you have ever had surgery, and how you experienced it. Stuff like how your day went, how you woke up, little things like that. In fact, the last time I was in a hospital, I was 3, so I don't remember that at all. So maybe something about the general hospital "mood" would be nice to hear too.

Don't worry, if you don't wake up while the surgery you will only feel pain after, but not that much as when they were doing the surgery.

Well, I've had my ingrown toenail removed a few months ago if that counts, I basically just watched the whole process which was quite interesting. The week after was pretty much having my foot on my desk, removing the bandage after that week was a terrible task and now I'm patiently waiting for the nail to grow back.

Stiched up and open wound back in 2009. By the chin and left arm. Of course the shock from the accident make me feel less pain.

It would be nice if you mention what surgery was . I mean i could tell you it would be nothing special if you were like doing a small surgery or i could tell you that life is not going to be the same if you were like getting a kidney removed .

It's mostly a normal hospital environment except the doctors and nurses are rely nice . If you are in a decent hospital with decent staff , the preparations for the surgery will be mostly painless ( getting your IV and such is like taking a shot doesn't rely hurt ) . And if you are put to sleep ( general anesthetics ) you won't fell anything . When you wake up you may fell pain if you were open up a lot ( would rely come in hand now to know what surgery you were getting ) . If it is a minor surgery you will just fell tired from the anesthetics .

I know this from getting about 6 surgery's in my 15 years of life .

I had surgery a long time ago, was on my stomach.. basically it's just sleeping for extensive amount of time and then waking up like you got hammered while drinking.. that's IMO. lol don't worry about it though, you will be just fine.

I had a surgery 3 months back in my mouth, there was some unwanted growth and the doctors speculated a tumor (which it wasn't). I just sat there after three anesthesia injections in my mouth and saw the doctor carve my mouth with a knife, remove a part of my jaw (all bloody and shit) and then put a drill in there to remove the tumor, then he put some stiches (13) and I was fine after that, couldn't eat anything solid for two weeks straight. The good side is that it didn't hurt (the anesthesia of course hurt when he impaled my jaw with that fucking large thing)

 

Nah, just messing with ya, all the above is true, but it was pretty comfortable, i think i watched a Football match in the duration of the surgery and barely felt anything.

I removed a spot (those brown things that show up on our skin, sorry for the bad english ) on my nose. I just went there, and they gave me anesthesia neir the spot. I was awake but I didn't felt anything just the pressure of them removing the spot and stitching it. Nothing special, little surgery.

I had surgery when I was 3 due to a hernia so I cant really remember.

The longest you can hold yourself from shitting is 1 week and 3 days. Then the shit gets really big. Bigger than your asshole.
