I remember back on alterIW this guy created a game where people were assigned to factions and there was intel, and it was really fun. Back on topic he had made a mod where the level would cycle through daytime, midday , nighttime, midnight, morning etc. He used RGB dvars (so not visions) I was wondering if anyone had that, or atleast to make it look really dark with dvars (not icbm vision).

you know day = High brightness, normal colours and so on/night: tinted dark-blueish, a little bit lower contrast and negative brightness settings. You could even change them dynamicly.

Yep, you could indeed do some nice things with those. If anyone wants to mess around with them:

 

self setClientDvar( "r_filmusetweaks", 1); has to be set to be able to mess with them in console:

 

I guess

self setClientDvar("r_drawSun", 0); should be set for night time.

 

Also adjusting self setClientDvar("r_brightness", 0.5); dynamically might help.

Most useful are all the filmtweaks and r_diffusecolorscale. Oh and banz no lighttweak commands from cod4 work (the one's which change things the most ) such as r_lighttweaksuncolor D:.
